Fuel-efficient engine
The Yanmar EPA IT/4EU Stage IV diesel engine delivers fuel-efficient and reliable performance. The addition of a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) reduce particulate and NOx. Both passive and auto cleaning of the DPF occur on the fly automatically. Plus, auto-idle automatically reduces engine speed when hydraulics aren’t in use, and auto-shutdown further preserves fuel.
Two power modes
Two work modes let you choose the digging style that best fits the job. The E (economy) mode is perfect for light-duty work, and also reduces noise levels. The P (standard) mode provides an excellent balance of power and fuel economy for most tasks.
Improved hydraulics
When you operate the ZX85US -5, you’ll quickly notice the smooth, responsive way our excavators go about their business. The advanced hydraulic system perfectly balances engine performance with hydraulic flow. The hydraulic system combines with an enhanced boom recirculation function to generate more aggressive boom/arm speed, returning the arm to the dig position faster, so you can move more dirt in a day.
More comfortable cab
Despite its short stature, the ZX85US-5 provides plenty of in-cab amenities. Perched on silicone-filled mounts, the ZX Dash-5 cab isolates noise and vibration. The spacious interior provides plenty of legroom and all-day comfort. Plus, narrow front-cab posts, large overhead glass and numerous mirrors – including a couple on the counterweight – provide excellent all-around visibility.
More control
Ergonomically correct short-throw pilot levers provide smooth, precise fingertip control with less movement or effort. Pushbuttons in the right lever allow fingertip control of auxiliary hydraulic flow for operating attachments.
More visibility
Standard left hand boom/frame light, plus optional right hand boom/frame light and cab/ boom lights provide illumination to extend your working day beyond daylight hours.
